Sayback is operated by Wang Wei under the developer name QZJY. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Sayback and its website.

1. Local entries
Sayback provides personal event records, people management, promise tracking and a mood diary. A Sayback account is not required for basic features.
Text, names, avatars, mood entries, photos and audio that you add are stored on your device by default. Using these recording features does not automatically upload their contents to our servers.
The app encrypts its local business records and app-managed media files. Automatic cloud synchronization and cloud backup are not included.
2. Permissions and optional features
Microphone: Requested when you choose to record audio. Refusing permission does not prevent ordinary text entries.
Photos and files: System pickers allow access to files you select, such as avatars, photos, audio and backups, for adding content or restoring data.
App lock: Uses authentication provided by your device. We do not receive or store fingerprint templates, facial templates or your device passcode.
You can manage permissions in your device settings. Withdrawing a permission may disable the related feature.
Speech-to-text is currently unavailable. Ordinary audio recordings are not automatically sent to a speech recognition provider.
3. Google Play purchases and verification
Payments in the Google Play version are processed through Google Play. Google and its payment providers handle payment information under their own terms and policies. We do not receive your Google account password or full payment card details.
When you purchase or restore access and our purchase verification service is enabled, the app sends a purchase token, product identifier, app package name and a randomly generated anonymous installation identifier to that service. The service checks the purchase with Google.
Verification results may include purchase status, subscription expiry, renewal status and related order identifiers. These are used to confirm and maintain Pro access. Purchase tokens are encrypted at rest in the isolated Sayback verification service on Tencent Cloud in Singapore. Order status, Google order identifiers and hashed installation identifiers support restoration, renewal and refund checks. Authenticated Google Pub/Sub notifications trigger fresh queries to Google; notifications alone never grant access. This process does not require your entry text, diary contents, avatars, photos or recordings.
Google may process relevant information outside your country or region. See Google’s privacy policy:

4. Website and network requests
The Sayback policy website is hosted on Tencent Cloud servers in Singapore. When you visit it, the server and hosting provider process network information needed to deliver pages. This website’s access log records only your IP address, access time, page category, response status and bytes sent, for security and troubleshooting. It does not log query parameters, authorization headers, request bodies or browser identifiers. Logs rotate daily, retaining up to 10 rotated archives plus the current log. Public policy pages do not set cookies or offer diary or attachment uploads or cloud storage. The separate purchase verification API processes orders as described in section 3; the admin console is for the operator only.
Online features such as purchase verification and update checks also generate necessary network requests. The website’s hosting location does not mean that all third-party services or purchase verification services process information in the same location.
We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking tools on this website. The current app does not include advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.
5. Backups, exports and retention
Local records generally remain until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app.
Event records in the trash have a 30-day retention period. Expired records are removed when the app subsequently performs cleanup. Minimal deletion markers without original text or media may remain to support backup merging.
Password-protected backups are encrypted. Keep your backups and passwords safe; we cannot recover a lost backup password.
Ordinary text, JSON and PDF exports are not encrypted backups. Deleting content in the app does not remove files you previously exported. Restoring an older backup may reintroduce records contained in it.
Purchase records and necessary verification information are retained as needed to maintain purchased access, resolve refund disputes and meet applicable obligations. Contact us with your Google order identifier to request access or deletion. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete server-side orders or cancel subscriptions. Network logs and support information you provide are retained only as needed to operate services, maintain security, resolve issues or meet legal obligations, and are then deleted or anonymized. Google’s transaction records are subject to its policies and applicable law.
6. Sharing and security
We do not sell the contents of your private records.
Service providers may process information necessary for hosting, purchase verification or technical support. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law.
We use safeguards appropriate to the processing, including local encryption, access controls and encrypted transmission for production services. No device or network environment can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, delete and export entries in the app. You can also withdraw permissions, clear app data or uninstall the app through your device settings.
We cannot directly access or remotely delete content stored only on your device, but we can help explain the available controls.
Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable rights concerning personal information we hold. We handle these requests in accordance with applicable law.
When contacting support, provide only information necessary to resolve your issue. Do not send payment passwords, verification codes or unrelated private entries.
8. Children
Sayback is not specifically directed at children. Minors should use it with guidance from a parent or guardian and obtain permission for purchases or processing where required by law.
Contact us if you believe we have improperly processed a child’s personal information.
9. Changes
We will communicate material changes through the website, an app notice or another appropriate method. Where additional notice, consent or other procedures are legally required, the relevant processing will begin only after those requirements have been met.
